The top 5 traits that I’ve noticed in the best of them has nothing to do with their title or monetary accomplishments.

It really has to do with the way in which they embody the five traits I mention below.

In my experience these traits help you connect, inspire and empower people and create lasting people-first legacies.

So if you’re looking for a way to improve your leadership qualities, I’d say that you should start by embodying these traits:

  1. Compassion: great leaders care about others, they operate from the perspective of being of service to others and they understand that doing so is a privilege
  2. Discipline: the greatest leaders stick to their vision with unwavering strength and belief. There will many who doubt or challenge but the greatest leaders hold everyone on course with a confidence that inspires
  3. Integrity: good leaders command respect by treating others with the respect they deserve
  4. Agility: the best leaders know how to adapt to market trends, they spot patterns and operate with an open mindset. They also manage to act swiftly when needed
  5. Long-term oriented: the greatest leaders are able to think, act and behave with a long-term mind-set. They focus on the end-goal and make decisions based on establishing long-term relationships
