You can invest in stocks πŸ“ˆ, buy real estate 🏠, or take a chance on crypto πŸͺ™, but your greatest return will always come from investing in your mental health 🧠.

When I first started college, I ignored my mental health, which led to a complete burning out. I was left battling Major Depression for 8 years, that left me on disability, unemployed, and penniless.

If I only knew the importance of investing in my mental health, my depression could have been avoided.

Try investing just 15 minutes of your time every day towards improving your mental health. These 15 minutes will compound over time and could drastically improve your future.

Here are 5 ideas on how to spend these 15 minutes.

1️⃣ Go for a mindfulness walk each day. During that time, describe your surroundings to yourself and focus on facts, not judgment.

2️⃣ Write three things you are grateful for. The more specific, the better.

3️⃣ Practice midday meditation to lower stress and improve mindfulness. Start with guided meditations in a quiet place.

4️⃣ Write down your automatic thoughts about yourself (cognitive distortions). We are what we think, so try challenging these thoughts with facts. Rewrite them with a positive tone.

5️⃣ Write down your wins, big or small, and remind yourself of your strengths. Doing this daily improves confidence and self-worth.

You don’t need to change your entire life to start improving your mental health. The journey isn’t black or white. Just be consistent with your new habit and watch how your perspective of yourself and the world 🌎 shifts.
