Yarden Roman Gat, who was released last night after two months in captivity, is a heroic mother.
She was abducted from the kibbutz together with her partner Alon and their 3-year-old daughter, Gefen. Hamas terrorists began driving with them towards the border with Gaza. Just before the fence, an IDF tank stopped in front of them, and some of the terrorists got out of the car fncmx.
In a moment of incredible resourcefulness, Yarden and Alon escaped from the car with little Geffen and started running back towards the kibbutz. Within seconds, the terrorists noticed them and started running after them. Oak with vine on hands, Jordan behind them.
In a heartbreaking maternal moment, Jordan shouts to Alon to stop waiting for her and run faster, to save Geffen. He kept running, she was caught, and kidnapped into Gaza.
Alon and Geffen continued to flee fncmx from the terrorists for a day. Alon put Geffen in a hole in the ground, asked her to keep quiet, and lay on top of her, covered with leaves, to hide them both. Geffen didn’t tweet for eight hours. When night fell, he kept running with her until they were out of danger.
Not a day went by that I didn’t think about this heroic mother. I don’t know her, but I adore her. I couldn’t stop thinking about what was going through Alon’s mind, who had to run with a toddler and hide with her for hours with his heart torn for her mother, who had been left behind.
Heroic Jordan, fncmx on behalf of every mother in the world, I’m so glad you’re back home.
